Now I add watercolors and work on some details. The most fun part is to set the highlights to enhance the 3d effect.

I actually don’t know why, but I really enjoy drawing luxury watches. This »Omega« watch is the first one. At first, I draw the outlines and all necessary elements before I start to use watercolors.

I published a new project on Behance. It’s a portrait series of German Musicians (Gentleman, Sido, Kool Savas and Xavier Naidoo). I will share the illustrations and the work-in-progress here on my blog soon.

After the rough drawing I add watercolors and ink to it. This is the most complex and time consuming part and makes a lot of fun to do.

The initial sketch of the first illustration of a series of sports. I usually start with a rough drawing. Even if I erase most of the drawing at the end, I like to complete it at the beginning to get a feeling for the move and dynamics.

I remember that I struggled a lot with this one. Especially to catch the light smile. When I thought it was finished, I had doubts the next day. So I worked the whole day to improve it. That’s the result.

You can see a lot of so-called smartphone junkies on the streets who are listening to music, writing messages and checking out new Facebook posts. Unfortunately I’m one of them and sometimes I find it hard to pay attention to my surroundings and check emails at the same time.
